Jason Koornick (Director/Producer)
Jason Koornick is the director and producer of Hitting The High Notes, the documentary/concert film about the 2004 High Sierra Music Festival. He has professional experience as a music and film producer, journalist, TV correspondent and touring musician.
"Hitting the High Notes" was a perfect opportunity for Jason to combine his passions of film and music. One of his many hats is as Executive Producer of films based on literary properties including the upcoming Sony/Revolution Studios project "Next" based on a short story by science fiction author Philip K. Dick starring Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore set to begin production in fall 2005. He also served as Associate Producer on the documentary "The Gospel According to Philip K. Dick" released by First Run Features in 2000.
When he's not directing or producing films, Jason likes to play bluegrass mandolin, snowboard and play tennis. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife Kat. He loves the Red Sox and his favorite High Sierra band is Leftover Salmon.
